If you’re looking for a dive bar in Dania Beach, this is it.  While Tiki Tiki, may be on the water, Tarks of Dania Beach is the real deal, no foolin’, seafood dive bar.  We stumbled on it while searching for gas during a shortage after the recent flooding.  It’s an old school diner where most everyone sits at the bar and watches their food getting cooked by one guy behind the counter, who looks like he’s been at this a while, and a sassy waitress dishing out food and trash talking with patrons.  We had the conch fritters, fried seafood and fried oyster platters with a pitcher of beer and they were as good as it gets.  But I would have also ordered some steamed options had my stomach been bigger. Prices are reasonable and the servings are huge and it’s open late enough.  It’s a small place, so chances are you’re going to be sitting elbow to elbow with someone else, but that’s just a good opportunity to make a new friend.  If you’re flying into Fort Lauderdale it’s just 15 minutes from the airport.  This pirate will definitely be going back and working my way through the menu.

I give it five jolly rogers
