Ever have one of those moments where you feel like you’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing? That’s me. Right now. For those who don’t know me, I’m a journalism professor who is currently on sabbatical. I’m spending my days in South Texas meeting interesting people and writing stories, taking photos and producing a documentary about immigration and the world that I’m discovering. It’s a chance to tell stories about things that matter and it’s a chance to put to test some ideas that I’ve had for years on how to use the web to tell stories.
So this place is my lab, and this blog in particular is where I want to write some notes, thoughts and decompress feelings about the things I’m encountering. Some of you have followed me or known me for years so this may feel like a familiar place. Some maybe not so much.
But for now, this post is just a placeholder because the website looks like it has a broken window without it.
